![]() TLDR - just roll with it - you'll get it eventually. ![]() He shuffles your party around like a deck of cards, dos massive stress damage and DoT, and he spawns minions that massively buff their own speed, damage, crit, and PROT every time they attack. You'd have much better luck just going torchless from the get-go in terms of finding a Shambler, but not so much from an efficiency standpoint in terms of the standard fights. The Shambler is arguably the second hardest boss in the game, behind only Vvulf. Variable of course, and you can't always plan for an altar like you can for some good ole 'finish up and walk back and forward to try your luck', but still. ![]() I'd say I encountered a Shambler altar per every 4-5 dungeons on average in my more recent save - sometimes in quick succession, sometimes after a good few weeks, but I recall seeing plenty. templar sniper (darkest dungeon) 1 shambler (darkest dungeon) 1 polyp (darkest dungeon) 1. ![]() There's not a whole lot to gain from regular farming except more stress or diseases (unless you're being super meta about it), except maybe trinkets or the chance to min-max whatever you have. As far as I'm concerned, by the time the dungeon is done (even if it's a short - unless super lucky with the mission), your pack should be relatively if not completely full.
